Our Story

Our founder, Mark Pomeroy, was stirred by God to find solutions for biblical illiteracy among young people and disunity in the church. It led him to leave the business world and become a full-time missionary in 1986. The mission field has changed over the years.

In our postmodern world, most young people today have no regular contact with believing Christians. They’re not particularly interested in Christianity. They are immersed in a digital world and social media. Even those who grew up in a church are leaving with no meaningful connection to Jesus.

To influence young people today, we engage where they feel at ease and empowered, which is technology.

This is Sync With God’s vision: reaching digital generations for Christ.

Today technology is used to connect everyone. Whether it’s social media or messaging, the internet is now the way people learn new things and build relationships. Sync with God uses technology to spread the gospel and link Christians to one another, regardless of generation or location. Many Christians share their faith face-to-face, with great results, but the new digital age has made millions of people more comfortable communicating online than in person.

New research has revealed that most U.S. churches are struggling to bridge the generation gap and connect with every age bracket, especially teens and twentysomethings. We are the first all-in-one discipleship technology resource with a personal interaction component being used to bridge this gap

Leadership

Mark Pomeroy, Founder and CEO

Mark founded Sync with God to be pathway to influence younger generations for Christ.  Missionary with Christ For The City International, Promise Keepers Nebraska field representative, University of Nebraska-Lincoln missionary.

Mark has B.S. Industrial Engineering, M.A. Journalism & Mass Communications.

Stan John, Executive Director

Stan is a global non-profit executive with multiple roles of leadership, Focus on the Family: Group VP of Constituent Support, Senior VP of Operations, Senior VP of Strategic Development, and Senior VP of Global Ministry Development establishing 12 Ministry offices in 6 regions of the world.

Stan has B.S. in Management, Pepperdine University and certifications in Logistics Management and Business Strategy Consulting.

Chris Cobb, Content Manager

Chris uses his expertise in curriculum and instructional design to build courses that inspire people to love God and love others. He has served on staff in church ministry for more than 15 years in the areas of worship and education. He also taught for 5 years in secondary education in the areas of history and Bible.

He received his doctorate degree in education from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and has master’s degrees from Denver Seminary and Colorado Christian University. 

Sync with God Doctrinal Statement

We believe in one God, Creator and Sustainer of the universe, who eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, who is fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for the sins of the world, was raised bodily and exalted to God’s right hand where He makes intercession for His own. He will personally come again.

We believe that God created humankind, male and female, in His own image. However, all creation suffers the consequences of the fall and is under God’s judgment. 

We believe that God has ordained marriage and defined it as the covenant relationship between one man and one woman. Therefore we will only recognize marriages between one biological man and one biological woman, and sex (gender) is defined by their sexual identity at birth. Genesis 2:18-25

We believe that because of His love, God sent His Son Jesus Christ, who inaugurated His Kingdom, provided atonement for sin, disarmed the powers and authorities, triumphing over them by the cross, reconciling the world to Himself. He will consummate His Kingdom in righteousness, power, and glory. 

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, who glorifies Jesus Christ, working in all peoples to bring them to believe and obey Christ. The Spirit dwells in those who believe, equipping and empowering them for lives of holiness and fruitful service. 

We believe the Bible to be the divinely inspired and authoritative Word of God, the only infallible rule of faith and practice. 

We believe that all who repent and believe in Christ are born into life eternal, delivered from condemnation, and as His Church are called to communicate the Gospel, proclaim the Kingdom, make disciples of all nations, and seek to be instruments of His righteousness, justice, and healing, all to the glory of God. 

We believe in the resurrection of the body, the eternal blessedness of believers in the presence of Christ and the eternal separation of unbelievers from Him.
